BULLS Reveals Its New 2020 Ebikes at an Exclusive Dealer Event

The absence of Interbike this year left a gap for BULLS and many other companies in terms of media coverage and connection with potential and existing dealers and partners throughout the industry. At the same time it also opened up a floodgate of potential given the time and resources left in its absence. So, BULLS Bikes USA and Pegasus decided to take a crack at inviting some media and the top 25 dealers out to SoCal for our inaugural dealer event and new product demonstration.

The feedback we received on the new models was better than we had hoped for. Each new model is like a new kid and even as we think they're great, we hope everyone else will too. The response to these new kids was tremendous. While the technology we've developed and are continuing to lead the industry in- bigger batteries, Monkey Link and integration of four industry-leading motors- was certainly front and center, the potentially even bigger story is the broadening of rider use cases, like Heavy Duty, Adventure and E-Road.

Some of these pioneer models dealers got really excited about were the Adventure EVO AM (E-Adventure) and the Copperhead EVO HD (Heavy Duty), both with Bosch's Gen4 CX motor and 625Wh battery. The Adventure also boasts a second 500Wh Powerpack battery on the underside of the top tube. The Copperhead is a hardtail eMTB geared toward larger riders with a weight limit of 330 lbs and will come in diamond and wave frames.

The Bosch Gen4 Speed equipped Desert Falcon EVO and Fazua powered Alpine Hawk EVO and Grinder EVO Lite are the beachhead of our brand new E-Road category. These models will cater to the growing, aging population of road enthusiasts that spiked in the 90s and early 2000s and are now looking to stay with their group rides or keep up with their partners on beautifully integrated road steeds. Toby Hill, the new Editor of Cycle Volta, wrote a great synopsis of the products here

Attendees enjoyed demoing these new models on and around Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve, an openly eBike friendly multi-use trail with rangers who welcomed us with open arms. We also enjoyed a ride to the beach near Carlsbad CA, taking in the view and riding to get a cup of coffee from a local boutique coffeehouse.

In addition to some stellar new rides, we got to hear from our motor and service/warranty suppliers, Bosch, Brose, Shimano, and Fazua (represented by QBP). This was a huge benefit for dealers to be able to meet face to face with them, ask and get answers to their tech and service related questions.

Interior Department moves to allow electric bikes in national parks, public lands

One small spin for an ebike, one giant leap for mankind.

Today, the Department of Interior released a Secretarial Order relating to the use of electric bicycles, or e-bikes, on all Department lands, including lands under management of the National Park Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the Fish and Wildlife Service and the Bureau of Reclamation. The Secretarial Order directs those agencies to conform to the policy that e-bikes shall be allowed where other types of bicycles are allowed, to the extent existing regulations allow. This is a positive development for the use of electric bicycles, and will ultimately enable the Department to provide better bicycling experiences for more Americans.

This Secretarial Order reflects the three-class e-bike system that has been widely adopted by state governments, and is understood and supported by the bicycle industry and e-bike owners. It also provides a broad framework for agencies to follow when adopting new rules for e-bikes, bringing their regulation closer to that of traditional bicycles. PeopleForBikes looks forward to a thorough stakeholder engagement effort that will help each agency create logical, consistent and easy to understand policies for electric bicycles.

BULLS, as an active member of The Bicycle Product Suppliers Association and PeopleForBikes, salute and celebrate this victory.

eBike for Law Enforcement: Real Life Experience

As you may have seen posted on social media over the last few weeks, we had the privilege of delivering the largest law enforcement eBike fleet in the country to the Los Angeles Police Department. While we are very pleased with the bikes, the relationship with LAPD and the credibility this gives us worldwide, we are even more pleased when we know these bikes are working to help officers better serve their community. Here's one account told straight from Sgt. Shannon Geaney of the Los Angeles Police department.

LAPD's New eBIKE Fleet - BULLS Sentinel

LAPD selected the BULLS Sentinel to make up their fleet of 20 police-specific eBikes, making this the biggest law enforcement eBike fleet in the U.S. In a news conference held outside LAPD HQ, Chief Beck lauded eBikes for their ability to allow officers to respond to calls for service more quickly and with more energy, often allowing officers to respond more quickly than cruisers. BULLS was able to spec this bike to meet the specific demands (and abuse) of LAPD and similar public safety agencies.
