Team Bulls

BULLS has been a trusted name in German cycling since the mid 1990s, but in the mid 2000’s the brand was ready to take its place as a top contender internationally.  Formed in 2007, Team BULLS had a singular focus: to become the best Marathon Mountain Bike team in the world.   That same year, Team BULLS riders Karl Platt and Stephen Samh won the Tour de France of mountain biking, the Absa Cape Epic in South Africa.  They would repeat the effort 2 more times and after Samh’s retirement, Karl Platt would go on to take the top podium spot for another 2 years, along with a Master’s win in 2022.

Since its inception, Team BULLS has won 300 races as well as 35 podium finishes at national, European and World Championship races, including 18 national titles from Germany, France, Switzerland and Austria.  Needless to say, this team knows how to get results and is excited to go the distance in 2023.

At the helm, the legendary Karl Platt continues to mix things up in his mid 40s.  Having logged well over 300,000 miles training and racing, this 2x German marathon champ has 5 Elite Cape Epic wins and will go for his 2nd Masters victory in March.

Longtime teammate and one of the Top 5 UCI Worlds most successful mountain bikers, Alban Lakata adds significant depth to Team BULLS.  He has earned 3 World Cup titles, 2 European titles and 7 Austrian Marathon championships.  Alban can sustain 420W power over an hour.

Urs Huber brings much to Team BULLS, hailing from Switzerland.  He’s stood on top of the Cape Epic podium, dominated the Swiss Marathon scene for 5 years and has won Europe’s largest mountain bike race, the Grand Raid BCVS, a total of 6 times.

Simon Schneller’s name says it all: Faster.  Simon has grown up under the wings of these great riders, proving himself to be a strong competitor from a young age.  Having won the German U23 XC Title, Simon has pushed himself at events like Cape Epic, Mediterranean Epic and Bundesliga, with plenty of podium finishes.

Rounding out the team is Axel Roudil-Cortinat, the newest edition to crew.  Axel, or “Truck” as he’s nicknamed, is a force to be reckoned with and will certainly continue to get results for Team BULLS.  He’s already proven himself in his home country of France, taking a National Marathon Championship and 2 second place finishes as he aims for Olympic gold.
