Black Adder 29

Take only pictures; leave only tracks

As we continue to develop, BULLS is constantly striving to set new industry standards. Our bikes are equipped with the latest and the greatest of bicycle technology. BULLS mountain bikes are developed for the most extreme trail conditions, and for endurance purposes. Testing is done by the some of the most demanding people imaginable: The Team BULLS. These riders constantly put their bikes and equipment through intense trials, never imagined by recreational riders. Thanks to their dissatisfaction, and their need to want everything lighter and stronger, they constantly challenge our development team to the utmost to make it reliable and durable.

At BULLS we have adopted a concept called Endurance Lite Concept, or ELC for short. While focusing on comfort we make sure that the bike is as stiff as possible where absolutely necessary. For some time it was believed that the complete frame needed to be stiff. Stiffness is crucial in certain areas, but not needed throughout the entire frame. To sum it up, every bike marked with the ELC-logo has been developed with these priorities in mind. You will receive a well-balanced bike that has the best power transfer for maximum driving force, best possible steering output, and is still extremely comfortable for even the longest tours.

Climbing to the Top Demands Strength and a Great Bicycle

When it gets really steep, a real "mountain bike" is needed. Marathon specialists such as Team BULLS Urs Huber praised the climbing skills of the BLACK ADDER, which is trimmed down for performing well in competition. The Swiss man (Urs Huber) has won many of the toughest World Cup races in the Alps with his Black Adder Team. With high-class equipment all around, the carbon fiber racing machine for high mountains captivates through a mature frame concept and uncompromising use of only the very best components. Ultralight and yet extremely rigid, the Black Adder Team converts every watt of output into propulsion; giving you the right edge to conquer every single time the toughest mountains.

Balance for Maximum Performance

The perfect symbiosis of sensitivity and stamina marks the character of the Black Adder Team. The Fizik seat stays effectively and absorbs the vibrations that wear the rider down, the specially reinforced tube diameter at the crank bearing casing ensures maximum propulsion, comfort, and power in complete harmony.

Extended Chain Stays for the Steepest Climbs

Black Adder Teams outstanding climbing properties make it a real "mountain biking machine". Determinant for the perfect adhesion to the race hardtails are the long chainstays which offer optimal traction, even on the steepest terrains. The extended top tube ensures a perfect riding position and impressively rounds off the concept of the summit stormer.

Monocoque: The Ideal Weight

Every extra gram that has to be dragged up the mountain is overweight. With just under 1000 grams, the frame of the Black Adder is an absolute lightweight winner. Thanks to the monocoque process in the manufacturing of the bicycle, the Black Adder Team is the perfectly balance illustration of weight to stiffness.

Tapered Steerer: Better Steering Stability

The conical head tube with its semi-integrated ball bearings, a.k.a. Tapered Steerer, ensures maximum riding safety and steering stability. Because of the downwardly expanded inside diameter, steering head and fork profit in a crucial area of increased rigidity. Simultaneously, the arising forces are deflected to the frame with less strain on the material.

Specifications subject to change without notice.
10-Speed Drive Train
It is an upgrade from it 9-speed predecessor. It basically allows for a finer selection of gears, thus improving efficiency and power
Press Fit
Press Fit bearings are pressed directly into the frame, rather than screwed. The press-fit inner bearing guarantees higher bicycle stiffness, thus increasing the lifespan of the bearings and overall lower weight
Tapered Steerer
This is semi-integrated headset with an inner diameter of 1 1/8 inch at the top and 1 1/2 inch at the bottom. This ensures best riding stability and excellent control head stiffness. The biggest shaft results in stiffer fork and frame as riding forces are spread more evenly thanks to a thicker head tube
Tailored Chainstays
Higher frames require longer chainstays. The result is a much improved climbing capacity, which is relevant in large frames. After all, the centre of gravity clearly shifts backwards with a taller rider, specifically during the climb. Taller riders also need more space since they usually have longer feet, and for the longer cranks to avoid touching the chainstays with their heels
The travel of the front suspension is 100 mm, which allows for a smooth “swallow” of small and large impacts and beats resulting in a better adhesion to the ground
The Shifty is an aluminum plate connecting the derailleur to the frame. It allows for a stiffer frame construction and a wider seat post, thus increasing rider comfort
Mud Worm
The Mud Worm prevents the entry of dirt particles into the shift cables and bottom bracket area by covering open areas where cables joint other components. The Mud Worm protects the shifting cable even in the most extreme conditions
